Mirabell Gardens

One of the other Sound of Music "hotspots" in Salzburg is the Mirabell Gardens. The most well known scenes from the Gardens were filmed in the song "Do Re Mi."

Our hotel practically opened up into the Gardens and we walked through them several times each day.

In "Do Re Mi" the kids and Maria ran through these statues, imitating them by holding their arms out.

(Scene from the movie)

At one point in the song, the kids all run by the statue of this little guy and took turns patting him on the head. We decided we'd do the same!

This is the arbor the kids and Maria ran through while singing "Do Re Mi."

This is the fountain that they walked around the edge while singing.

The "Do Re Mi" steps!!

(Scene from the movie)

I am standing at the top of the steps, looking back over the gardens.

We found a really neat little playground tucked away in the gardens. Kaylee really enjoyed the huge swing!

Neither of the girls were brave enough to try out this slide. Can you blame them? It was REALLY steep!!

I think the coolest thing we found in the park were these chimes/bells. Too cool!

We also happened upon a band concert of some sort while we were in the gardens. Not sure what band it was, but obviously, some sort of military band.

This little man was smoking his pipe and reading the concert program. Doesn't he look like a leprechaun?

One last shot of Mirabell Gardens. Beautiful!
