Before there was "The Sound of Music", there was Mozart!
Salzburg was the birthplace and home of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and every which way you turn in the city, you are reminded of that fact.
We first toured the home of Mozart. Inside we were able to see many things that belonged to Mozart, among which were several of his keyboards. (Sorry I have no pics - we weren't allowed to take pictures inside.)
This yellow house is the place where Mozart was born.

Just as we were finishing our tour, Kimberlee lost her tooth!! It ended up falling down into the grate and she became quite upset...afraid that she wouldn't be able to put it under her pillow that night. So, while Aunt Jo took her to the bathroom to rinse out her mouth, Mom removed the grate and rescued the run-away tooth!
Now, how many kids can say they lost their tooth in Mozart's house?!
This is the front of the Salzburg Cathedral, where Mozart was baptized and later served as organist for 2 years.
The dome inside the cathedral
If you look closely at this picture, you will see that the Salzburg Cathedral has 4 organs! Sure would've liked to have heard them play together.
One of the organsJust outside the cathedral, we watched these violinists playing a little Mozart!

A statue honoring the city's greatest citizen
We even ate in the Cafe Mozart!
