Pizza Camp

On August 25th, our kids were able to participate in a "Pizza Camp" at our local Greenwich, which is a fast food pizza place. They got to don hair nets and aprons and go to work making their own pizzas. There were also some games and even a tour of the kitchen!

Here they are learning all about pizza-making!

That's What Friends Are For

Here are some miscellaneous pics from some special times we've shared with our friends recently.

Carly's been begging lately to have a lemonade stand and I've tried to convince her that that's a foreign concept here. So as a compromise, I told her she could set one up during our BEEF meeting - our monthly missionary fellowship group.

Here, Carly poses at her stand with her good friend Mikayla and Mikayla's friend, Chloe. (Chloe and her parents were visiting here with the thought of possibly coming here as missionaries in the future. )

This particular BEEF meeting happened on our friend, Debbie Johnson's, birthday.

A couple of days later, we went swimming with the Hagens and the Prices (Chloe's family).

Carly found this gorgeous flower while we were at the pool.

Carly has two very special friends in Conway, Arkansas - Addie Bender and Emily Luck. Carly received this package in the mail from Addie and Emily for her (belated) birthday.

The girls each had a shirt made like this and so they sent one to Carly too! Needless to say, she was pretty excited to get it. Addie and Emily are planning a trip to see us next summer, so maybe the girls can all wear their shirts together.

I had a very special treat towards the end of August. I got to fly to Manila for a few days to just have some "girl time" with my best friends, Dar and Connie. The intent of this trip was to spend a couple of days with Dar before she relocated to another place. We were blessed to have several days of relaxing, shopping, eating, laughing and even crying together. We were also able to spend some special time in prayer together, especially praying for the protection and wisdom of Dar during the next year.

(And we also made a trip to Krispy Kreme!!!)

God has blessed our family with some very dear friends, both here and all around the world. We are so thankful for the encouragement and support of our friends. We couldn't make it without you!

Manual Labor

After the typhoons that moved through our area last year, our yard has been pretty bare. We lost quite a bit of trees and bushes. So we recently purchased some palm trees of various shapes and sizes and had a family work day!

The yard....before

Caleb just enjoyed digging!

Teamwork!

(I realized in working on this post that I took a "before" picture and never took an "after" picture. I'll try to add one here soon.)
