Early the next morning, we crept out of the Hagen's house and hit the road. Our goal was to get to Manila in time for supper.
Caleb served as our navigator!
We stopped along the way at a beach side resort for a picnic lunch. The wind was REALLY blowing and we about froze!! It's not too often in the Philippines that we are cold!
Have I mentioned that it is a REALLY, REALLY LONG trip to Manila?
But Caleb found a good way to pass the time!
The highlight of the long drive to Manila is driving through the Quezon National Forrest. It's a beautiful drive that's not for the faint of heart! (In other words, Mom refuses to drive this part of the trip!)
( And we thought the roads in the Ozarks were exciting!)
We passed this trike somewhere along the way. Can we say FRAGILE?
In Lucena, we stopped at Jollibee for ice cream!
We did accomplish our goal by getting to Manila by dinner time. We ended up eating at Outback - mainly because Carly wanted her usual hamburger with a loaded baked potato. Yum!
