Vacation - Day Four

On Day Four we took the kids to Ocean Adventure - which is a really scaled-down version of Sea World. There wasn't a whole lot to do there, but what was there was very neat and clean.

In one area they have something like a mini-zoo. Here are a few animals we saw there.

And of course there were some really cool aquariums!

The main events of the day were the Sea Lion show and the Dolphin show. Here's a video of the highlights of the Sea Lions.

Enjoying some ice cream while watching the show.

Here's the dolphin show.

As we were sitting and waiting for the show to begin, one of the employees came up to us and asked if Carly would like to assist in the show! She agreed (knowing that she might get a little wet) and took off with the employee. Sad to say, I wasn't able to get video of her part of the show. Basically she and another girl got to give the dolphins a few commands, pet them and feed them. How cool is that! However, she wasn't expecting the HUGE splash that the dolphins gave them at the end!! She was SOAKED!!

We were able to buy some pictures from the photographer that was out on the pier with them. The following pics were taken by him. You'll notice that Carly's interaction wasn't with one of the regular bottle nosed dolphins. She got to know Tonka, the False Killer Whale. He's a variety of dolphin that is much bigger and darker in color, much like a killer whale. He also makes for a much bigger splash!!

We were so thankful that Carly was chosen and made such a neat memory!
