We celebrated New Year's with our friends, the Hagens and the Johnsons, at the Hagens' house in Iriga City.
New Year's is a very LOUD holiday in the Philippines! Beginning several hours before midnight and lasting a while after midnight, everyone sets of fireworks, honks the horns on their cars, and does all kinds of other loud and crazy things. (In other words, don't expect much sleep that night!) These fireworks were set off by the Hagens' neighbors. We enjoyed the free show!

On New Year's Day, we just hung out around the house and ate and played games. (Can you believe that at one point we caught Steve and Wade in the kitchen washing dishes??!!)
And while we were playing games, the kids occupied themselves in the Hagens' new tree house.
It's really cool because it has several floors!
(Don't you just love the mouth full of spaghetti?!)
