I've got a mule, her name is Sal.....

....fifteen miles on the Erie Canal.

One afternoon while we were staying in Syracuse, we went downtown to the Erie Canal Museum.

A random "hand" statue that the kids were playing around.

Some of the beautiful buildings in downtown Syracuse.

The Erie Canal Museum

The glassed-in area is actually where the canal used to run. The boats would pull through there.

Playing on the boat

What happened to our babies???

The first stop light used in the US was used in Syracuse.

A model of how the weigh station worked

In one part of the museum, they have a puppet stage and these costumes for kids. Our crew had a fun time there dressing up and acting out with the puppets!

The street here actually used to be part of the canal.

We found Sal!!

"....she's a good 'ol worker and a good 'ol pal....."

Thanks, Aunt Karol, for taking us here. What a fun way to learn about history!!
