Here are a few random pics from our time in Beijing....
You haven't really been to China unless you've used a squatty potty!
(Except for those in our group who REFUSE!)
Sav was given a gift of a box of glutenous rice balls. The box was a mixed assortment of flavors, but until we bit into them we didn't know the flavor. Some of the flavors were REALLY NASTY, but some - like the chocolate - weren't too bad!
Sav was the only one brave enough to bite into them. Once she found a good one, then she'd give it to one of us to finish eating. Ha ha ha. Such fun memories!! We laughed forever over the glutenous rice balls!!
One of the chocolate ones. Looks yummy, huh?
This is how they buy their eggs in Beijing.
And then there were the signs in Beijing! LOL. You never knew what to expect next! Kinda graphic, huh?!
(This sign was near the door to the subway.)
Subway map. We became pretty familiar with this!
At the subway station. A little crowded, huh?!
Some signs mean the same thing no matter what language!!
Anyone need a lift??
No firecrackers!!
Another subway sign. This must be a dangerous place!!
Which way do we go??
Get a little closer....don't be shy....
I love how this sign says "Gourmet Street" and then points to McDonald's!! Ha ha ha.
Ummmm.....where did I park my bike????
Opposite day - Sarah with straight hair and Jo with curly hair!
In many places in the world, this sign would would make one say "Duh?!"
Our meal in a REAL Chinese restaurant. DELICIOUS!!!!
(But so glad we were with friends who knew how to order!!)
Yum-O!!
We found Epcot Center!!
(or....China is really good at copying anything and everything!)
I love it when the grass is smiling at me. Don't you?? However, this grass didn't look very "smiley" in my opinion.
Nothing like experiencing a new culture for the first time! So much fun!!
