On the way home from our vacation, we drove through some of the areas that had been affected by the mudslides during Typhoon Reming last November. The destruction is overwhelming! Entire neighborhoods were wiped out. All that's left is a lot of mud and the tops of a few houses.
Here you can see the level of the road (on the left) and the height of the mud where it's been cleared off the road. Also, notice the large tube on top of the mud. It is pumping water to the people down the road that are still living there.
Even among such destruction, we were reminded of God's majesty and beauty! We may never understand in this life why such events as Typhoon Reming take place. But we must trust that our God is all-knowing and in control of everything. May He receive honor and glory in this place.
