Caleb's Fun Week - Part One

At the end of June, the kids and I flew to Manila for a very special week. Carly was able to attend (for the second year in a row) a camp held especially for ex-pat/missionary kids. (That post will be coming.) Since Caleb wasn't quite old enough to attend the camp, I wanted to do some special things with him. But we also used the time to do some MAJOR catch-up with his school work. So each morning, we stayed in the room and worked big-time on school. Then each afternoon, we took a "field trip" somewhere around Manila. Caleb worked really hard on his school work and we had a blast hanging out together, just the two of us. We took lots of pictures! Hope you enjoy them.

On the first day, we dropped Carly off at the pick-up point for the bus heading to camp then we went back to the room for school. By dinner time, we headed to MOA (Mall of Asia) and Caleb chose to eat at Burger King.

After dinner, we headed down to the IMAX theater and hung out in the "Chill Lounge" for a bit. Then we went in and saw a film about coral reefs. It was really cool!!

Once we got into the theater, we had several minutes before the movie began so Caleb began to entertain himself. What more can I say?? (Thankfully, there weren't many other people in the theater so mom wasn't too embarrassed!! LOL)

On Day Two, we started out with math!

But mom got to pick the restaurant today! Chili's!!!! (My fav!) Here, Caleb shows off his favorite Chili's meal....the Corn Doggy Dog! (Gotta love the ketchup on the face!)

Mom's fav....the Peppercorn Burger! YUM!!

Our field trip on Day Two was the Ayala Museum. (Sorry, but no cameras were allowed inside the museum.) Caleb wasn't very impressed with the art floor, but he enjoyed the floor that told the history of the Philippines in miniature.

This was taken outside the museum at the fountain. That is water behind Caleb, but you can see the reflection of the buildings in the background.

After one visits a museum, one becomes very hungry for Dippin' Dots!!!

OK - this isn't the greatest pic. We were taking it of ourselves and our Dippin' Dots, but we totally cut out the Dippin' Dots! LOL. Maybe we need more practice?
