For her 10th birthday, Carly wanted to have a Hawaiian party. So we had the party at a nearby resort called Oh La La. We had a great day of swimming, eating and visiting with friends.
Carly greeted the guests as they arrived and each of the girls donned a grass skirt.
This was the pool-side cottage we rented for the day.
(You know, when you live in the tropics, a Hawaiian party isn't too much of a stretch!!)
The kids decided that they would rather eat beside the pool rather than in the cottage with the parents!

Here's a picture of my "Island Cake." It was a little worse for the wear after traveling in the car, but we were able to piece it back together! (Notice the whales swimming in the "ocean")
We also had strawberry cupcakes. We've NEVER had strawberry cake mix here before! Who would've ever imagined we'd have it just in time for Carly's party? (Personally, I think it was a special gift for my strawberry-loving girl!)
